Pull the Trigger is an animated music video to Gioni - Trigger created in Adobe After Effects using Red Giant's pluggin Form. The task was simple. Create an animated video timed to music. No other restrictions. In the end, the video was a great way to learn a new pluggin as well as practice some dynamic camera movements.

Starting Point

Going into the project, a bass drop was a must. Something that will make a great catalyst to an animation. As soon as I heard Trigger and its drop, I know I had to create a bullet being fired from a gun. Moving with the idea, sketches need to be made to create a story and flow. At this step I had some issue visualizing my idea. But luckily with my math background, I 3D mapped out the camera movement the way I wanted it.

Making the concept a reality

Scouring the internet, I was able find a high quality sniper rifle that I was able to plug into Red Giant. Red Giant allow only displays the 3D model and edit the look of it. So I had to position the models in the 3D environment and key frame the camera movement surrouning the objects. Matching the movement to the music was relativily easy as you could look at the wave form and identify the highs and lows of the drops. In the end, the project ended up exactly how I wanted it to be.
